The best clinical calculator to have on your phone. Useful for any rotation you are on. Free app.
Amboss Knowledge:
Excellent resource for reviewing diseases. Contains very good pictures and charts. Requires a subscription.
Amboss QBank:
Great learning tool in addition to UWorld. Easy to use. Requires a subscription.
UWorld:
The best question bank to use for studying for Step and shelf exams. Must have a UWorld subscription to use.
miSecure Messages:
Secure platform for communicating with other physicians. Free app. (Update: miSecure Messages is being replaced with TigerConnect on February 11, 2025!)
PowerChart Touch:
Allows you to look into patients’ charts on your phone. Good for seeing which patients are on the schedule for the day. Very easy to use. Free app.
Spotify:
A hidden gem for medical podcasts including Daddy Goljan Lectures (great pathology review) and Divine Intervention Podcasts (shelf exam review). The Undifferentiated Medical Student is a great resource if you’re unsure what specialties are out there and what they do.
Touch surgery:
App with high-quality video walkthroughs and steps of numerous procedures! Insanely helpful for surgery and Ob/Gyn and an awesome free reference
UpToDate:
Look up your patients’ diagnoses and management on the go! We needn’t say more.
